Update #94 - Kristie Rush by Chad

"Kristie, I am going to send out a brief update, is there anything specific that you want me to tell everyone?"

"I'm thirsty."

Thirsty for a big cup of ice water with a green bendy straw.  Thirsty for God to finish the work that He has started in her life and will bring to completion to the glory of His name.

She is thirsty.

Physically her body if failing; the medicine, being given in increasing measure to help her to breathe, is making her sleep more.

She is at home.  She has a hospice bed in our bedroom.  Our dog Mollie hasn't moved from her side.

We pray and hope for God to do what He and He alone is able to accomplish.  In her and my lives, and in the lives of Emilie and Daniel.

Please join me in praying that she would hear The Sovereign Lord speak.

The hand of the Lord was upon me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of the valley; it was full of bones.  He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry.  He asked me, "Son of man, can these bones live?"  I said, "O Sovereign Lord, you alone know."  Then he said to me, "Prophesy to these bones and say to them, 'Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord!  This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones;  I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.  I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life.  Then you will know that I am the Lord.'"
So I prophesied as I was commanded.  And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone.  I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.  Then he said to me, "Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, 'This is what the Sovereign Lord says:  come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.'"  So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet – a vast army.  (Ezekiel 37:1-10)

Love to you from the Rush family.

  2. Good morning, Rushes. ❤️ What a jump start to the day. Thirst...yearning...dry bones....breath of life.....rising.....vast army. A miraculous train of thought. God breathes into a broken, dried up jumble & a whole, living, breathing army arises. On this earth He breathes life into every one of us at birth. He breathes life into us the day we become his daughter. And He will have His vast army again when one day we rise to meet Him in the

  4. Oh that we all would thirst and that thirst would bring us to the living water and that we would drink and thirst no more. Lifting you up- each one- that you and I would thirst no more because He poured himself out as a drink offering to us, from a river that will never run dry. May we rejoice and sing, "I have a river of Life flowing out of me, makes the lame to walk and the blind see." Oh Spirit of the Living God- be Chad and Kristie's full supply today!

  6. Rush family : you are such an amazing witness for Jesus. I share the prayers of your loved ones for peace and strength and mercy and for the quenching of your thirst. So many are praying for you, although they may have never had the opportunity to meet your shining spirit. You have been such a blessing to me. I am honored to have the opportunity to learn and be blessed from your continued journey.

  7. I am so heartbroken for your family, and yet I am so deeply and profoundly encouraged and blessed by your faith. My husband and I are GCC grads ('96 and '97). As I've read the blog, I've wept with you, I've rejoiced with you, I've marvelled, I've cried out to God...thank you so much for sharing your journey with so many. Thank you for always pointing to the glory of Christ. I will continue to pray for your precious family as you continue to walk out the sacred dance between joy and sorrow, with Christ as your ever-present hope.

  9. How beautiful is the view beyond the hill, I am sure. I pray for Kristie's family and friends - you have a new hill now, one that no one should have to climb. But remember the glory that lies beyond it! Kristie's view from above is not blocked - she sees you perfectly and will guide you from her seat in Heaven with her Lord.

  10. I just heard about Kristie's passing this morning, and although I never knew her personally (I knew Laura), she was such an inspiration to me. I am crying tears of sorrow this morning for what the world has lost, but I know her legacy will live on forever. I am also crying tears of joy for what heaven has gained. Praying for your family today and in the days to come. <3

  11. Thanking God for the precious Ana Duo. Holding the best words I've heard uttered by a Browncroft brother: "Heaven just got a little sweeter." May God bless and keep you in His perfect peace, Chad. You honored your wife beautifully in that post.

Just heard this Chris Tomlin song and thought of Kristie. (Sorry about the above delete, but somehow it published before I was done typing.)

  14. I'm so sorry for your loss, but rejoicing for Kristie as she is now whole and healthy and worshipping at the feet of Jesus. I only found out about her illness about a month ago, and then went back and read her blog. What a testimony of faith she is! I also graduated from GCC in '94, and wish I had known Kristie as more than just an acquaintance in class. She was an amazing person! I am praying for you all. Darcy Galvin Rapoza

  15. Kristi (and Laura) was a club kid of mine about 25 years ago. I remember how beautiful the Spiril of the Lord was in her even as a teen. I remember seeing her on work crew at Saranac. I will always remember Kristi's positive attitude and smile in our Campaigner group. She always seemed to light up the entire room by her very presence. I lost touch with her many years ago...but have followed her story and have been praying.

    Praying for you, Rush family.

  16. Hi,
I don't know Kristine but I happened to see her beautiful face in the newspaper this am. I read some of her blog. It appears to me it would have been such a privilege to know her. May she be resting comfortably in Jesus' sweet arms now. God Bless you all.
